The first Christmas card made and printed for commercial use originated in England in 1843 from an idea of Henry Cole.
The Victoria and Albert Museum, of which Cole was the first director, has an extensive collection of them: we took them from there.
It is also an interesting way to see the western cultural changes of the last century and a half.
Jingle Bells was the first song transmitted from space thanks to the wit of astronauts Thomas Stanford and Walter Schirra who smuggled a harmonica and rattles aboard the Gemini 6 spacecraft. We also wrote about it here.
